“My first impression of a chuck wagon race came as a young boy when my Dad took me to the Calgary Stampede. When the Claxton horn sounded and four chuck wagons with outriders took off making a figure eight around the barrel, my first thought was, “This is the wildest thing I’ve ever seen!”
An impressionistic picture of this unique race, First Barrel Worst Barrel doesn’t show a wagon wreck, but rather the drama of the figure eight. The small maquette on the underside represents the team hitting the track with an out rider trying to catch up.”
