That life was ever there at all
From time to time in drifted snow
Collected by the broken flows
Large plate size tracks may be found
Giving proof to living ghosts
Here in the land of the midnight sun
Its ruler is the Great Nanuq
Who spends his days in endless travel
Across the top of the world
Carried on the winds as well
Along with scents of want and need
The strange scent of uncertainty
That always comes with change
