“Influenced by a trip to Florence, Venice and Rome in 2009, I was challenged to sculpt the movement of a mature female figure within the physical limits of a torso. I’ve left the surface of the torso in a tooled finish which worked well with the old stone patina used. This sculpture was made as though carved from a block of stone. It was then set on a chiseled piece of granite with a turntable. The confidence and strength captured in this beautiful subject, I love.”
