To gather far below the snow
Winter already laid its claim
And dressed the mountain peaks in white
The secret places only bighorn rams
And angels know
The bookkeeper sized up by all
The would-be suitors of the ewes
His horns displayed not just his age
But scars from battles past
And now a younger ram steps up
The challenge for his right to reign
The days ahead will prove which one
Was strong enough to last’
